Bought a Johnson 520K furnace a while back and won't be using it. Can anyone suggest a place to advertise it?
Thanks. Norm

You'd do yourself a huge favor by specifying a location and an expected price. For all readers know, you're in Honduras.

What a pleasant surprise! Didn't know you were near. You're close enough to spark an interest.

I trust it's set up to be fueled by natural gas? Can you provide a picture with the lid open? Describe the general condition? I'm concerned about the lining and the size of crucible that it will accommodate. Anything you can tell me to help me understand better would be welcome. Pictures, too. If you'd prefer to not post, I'll send you my email address. Just post your thoughts so I'll know.

We don't have a policy for selling that's directly associated with the foundry forum, although the board does have a forum for selling shop related items. Not a problem in making mention here, due to the very limited interest. This way anyone who has an interest in foundry and checks the board will see your offering. They may not see it when it's listed elsewhere.

That is the exact furnace we had in our high school shop class back in the 70's. I used it to melt aluminum and bronze to make shop (and home) projects like statues, fence parts, and model locomotive components. It ran on natural gas and was very easy to use. It had a built in blower and the pilot light mechanism worked great I could get a crucible full of bronze to melt in about 20 minutes. That gave me another 20 minutes to pour and clean up before the class time period was over. Ahh, I loved the days of true work in metal shop class where I would get dirty and sweaty and have something useful to show for my hard work.
