Where Can I buy wax fillets. I have called a few places with no luck. Looking for 1/8 to 3/16 in radius pieces

I went to Freeman Supply early and ask for a quote on line

Got an email that said they would get back to me in a day or two with a quote . That was the last I heard from them

They're a bit slow with that quicker and easier to give them a phone call.
McMaster would be another source, I know they have sheet pattern waxes
not so sure about fillets.

It turned out they had returned my quote in less than an hour but my U.S. Army work email server had stripped it off due to security.

They have to make the wax fillets as it is something they manufacture as needed. It should be here in two weeks.

You should also order some fillet tools and a alcohol burner to heat the tools.

I have the fillet materiel and tool inbound.

Having trouble with the journal box pattern and sand tear out on the inside edge for th outer face. It has made one good mold out of fife attempts. I need to improve this.
Fender is giving me the advice to fillet the area to ease the sharp edge which appears to be keying into the sand as an undercut.

What are you using for painting the patterns. If it is like the pattern for the cross tie then, I would change the type of paint. It is too soft. The sand will bit into it. Some patterns makers think that you can use any paint. You need to use a hard paint.

Freeman make true pattern paint it is harder then regular paint when it dries.

Also add fillets to the bottom of the pattern were it meets the vertical check the draft. It looks like you havn't enough you need at least 5 degrees on a long vertical pull.

Actually I don't paint the Rapid Prototype patterns. I did not have these polished so they are very rough where the layers of plastic are built up.

I used bondo brand body putty to fill the low pits and and pores, then sand it.

so far it has caused no problems but I see your point of using a hard lacquer as the old pattern maker books call for.
