Iron Casting Course

Post by RONALD »

For those of us who don't know everything about the production of iron castings, here is a new course offered by the AFS.

Like all AFS courses this one is rather expensive, and is not directed toward the hobbyist.

I was quite interested to see such a small cupola in use. I had built one, slightly smaller, which was near completion when I got my induction furnace. Everything I'd read indicated they are difficult to operate in a small size, but they appeared to have excellent results with theirs.

Seems to me they were rather reckless with the molten iron (lack of safety), but it was interesting seeing the entire operation. Thanks for posting.
