The math also has to account for labor cost and the cost of downtime. But it works for you so you're fine. I just wanted to caution that adding connectors in order to improve repairability doesn't always lower costs or reduce downtime.

I just replaced 4 fluorescents with LED's in my small machine shop and holy cow, I now have to wear sun glasses.

They are impressive!
I had two flush mounted 2-bulb 4' 40 watt fluorescents in my 'tool room'. Leftovers from the kitchen remodel. I planned on mounting a third 4-footer in the middle, cause it was a bit dark, but when I converted those two to LED, I don't need another.
