Cloning hard drive

Re: Cloning hard drive
Sad to say given what Peter Norton built "back in the day", but I won't use anything Symantec/Norton branded since they got bought out quite a while back. I guess it may not apply to "Ghost", but some of the self-promotion in their stuff borders on ransom-ware (ironically their AV software appears the worst). I don't use ghost and can't comment on it other than to say it seems well regarded, but I won't use anything from them.

I used Ghost. It worked. I prefer clonezilla. Norton was just harder to use.

Re: Cloning hard drive
I agree that Symantec has fallen far. It used to be our enterprise a/v solution, but we finally gave up on them due to support issues.
We used to use Ghost quite successfully, which is why I recommended it. Now we use a more sophisticated imaging process that essentially builds a computer by layering application software on top of a 'bare' OS install. It allows us to maintain fewer base images.
