large drill press

Post by Russ Hanscom »

Some tools for a party wanting a large shop. I looked at the drill, 8' x 9' foot print, 9' high and 10,000#. Rated to drill 2" in steel and 8" quill travel. Would like to have something like that but...Only $500 but would take ten times that to move to my place 10 miles away. I think I heard the wife say "no".

All you need is a few strong friends on a Saturday.
And a crane and a semi.
Big forklift maybe.

Makes my 14" South Bend feel inadequate.

If it was half that weight and footprint, I might have trouble restraining myself.

Shop that has it makes large hydraulic cylinders for Cat. The drill press had been functioning as a large honing machine. Upgrading to new machines and need to clean out the old stuff. Would like to spend a day poking around their shop.
