shop crane/shrub puller

Post by Charles »

Converted engine cherry picker so I could lift mill head high enough to bolt up.
Moved to new home with 8' gagage ceiling. Boat winch allows me to snub load
tightly to boom and lift higher. Pulls shrubs too,,,,,,,

Rats, something happened to the picture. Did you give it enough time to upload or was it larger than 100K?

wrap a chain around the shrub and wrap the other end around a frame member of your 4x4 and idle away. Works great if the ground is damp.

George, it will even work better if you have a large wheel to stand up next to the shrub, or post you may be pulling out of the ground, and run the chain up and over the wheel and down to the bottom of post or shrub and then pull away. This exerts pressure up, the same as the cherry picker instead of sideways. I use an aluminum 24" semi truck wheel. These wheels crack pretty often and it is illiegal to repair them so they aren't too hard to get ahold of.
