Q: Do 1/8 X 27 NPS Ball Valves exist ? ...

I tried to find them locally at Plumbing suppliers, and hardware stores but no luck. I did see some 1/8 sizes on McMaster-Carr but they were all NPT, not NPS. I have a Watts Fluid Air water trap for my air compressor that I would like to install a ball valve on - I dislike having to constantly turn those little brass petcocks. Btw, is a 27 tpi NPS the same as a 27 tpi NF or UNF?

If I am thinking correctly, NPT means National Pipe Taper and NPS means National Pipe Straight. They have the same threads per inch and the same basic diameter, but one is tapered and the other is not. If you really want straight vs taper, you should be able to retap the valve. If the tolerances come out right, you might be able to get them to mate without any work.
