South Bend Mica undercutting attachment and armature turning chucks

Post by raincstr » Thu Aug 30, 2018 10:03 pm

This is my first post. I have a South Bend 9c from 1936 that came with a very uncommon set of accessories. I see no use for them in the near or later future so I am looking into selling or trading them. What I need help with is determining what they are worth so I don't give them away at an unreasonable price. I also need advice on how to get the information out to machinists that might want them.

Here are the parts I have:
3/4" Headstock chuck on #3mt
Mica undercutter which mounts like a steady rest on the carriage.
3/4" Brass jaw receiver chuck for the tailstock
All in very good condition.

I live in Southern California about 1 hour south of Riverside and would prefer not to try long distance shipping and all that goes with that.

I look forward to your thoughts.

Look on Ebay completed listings for those items. Very common tooling up into the 50s ,after that very few garages would bother ,just replace starter/generator with a rebuilt unit. Value $50-150 for all if you can even find a buyer.
