Hello!
I just ran across this site, and thought some of you might be interested
in my gearbox. I hate messing with change gears when I'm busy
with some project, so I made this quick-change box for my mini lathe.
It works great, with 17 threading ranges, the standard finish-cut range,
and a separate e-motor drive that moves the carriage 5/8" per minute,
regardless of spindle speed. This can yield fantastic finish cuts.
And saving five minutes or so each time I need to change functions
makes it a lot more fun for me!
If any of you have projects that you've made on mini machines, and
would like to display them on our website,
www.swarfrat.com, please
feel free to contact me at: projects@swarfrat.com. We're trying to
interest as many folks as possible in hobby machining. There's nothing
like seeing what can be done to spur people into joining in the fun!
