Here is something for this dusty "photo section". See attachment. I bought this South Bend several months ago and look at the size of the counter shaft pulley! I think the guy that I bought it from rigged it up and you should have heard him grind the gears demonstrating it for me........... I got it cheap. I don't think a dremel turns as fast as this thing did. The pulley is for sale !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scott

Nice find Scott! But hang on to that big pulley, who needs a 10EE that turns 4,000 rpm when you have a pulley that big.

Michael, I am going to step out on thin Ice here . What is a 10EE? I don't know. I was worried about the bearings a bit but all seems to be in order and I have cut some servicable threads with it. As for that pulley, I think I can use it to keep scarf out of the garbogo can!

The 10EE is a toolroom lathe made by Monarch that is one of the best tool room lathes built. Some of them turn up to 4,000 spindle rpm. Look on ebay and there is usually a 10EE listed. There is a nice one on there now with the bidding over $4,000 so far. Rebuilt ones are around $60,000.
