Helpful Additions

Post by Greg B »

Just a few photos of some of my "helpers".
Image
A little table mounted stop. Been needing this for a long time and finally got around to making it.
Also, you can see the rubber chip guard I mounted to mill. Keeps the chips off of the "Y" and knee ways.

A simple sheet metal rack for my milling collets.

Image
It slides back for access to items underneath.

Image
"X" and "Y" axis scales and a Shumatech readout. Probably the most helpful addition. Still need to mount the scale for the knee. More photos when that is done.
Enjoy, GDB

Nice work!

What kind of mill is that one?

Rockwell?

I like the way you installed the DRO scales. 8)

Thanks.
No, not a Rockwell. It's a Benchmaster that I permanently grafted a
Rusnok Model 70 milling head to. Tha original head didn't have a quill. This one does, albeit only about 1.75 inches worth.

I made the ram and overarm that the head is mounted to. But I used the big CNCs at work for that.
