Small project.... Drawbar wrench.hammer

Post by ftgmx »

Just messing around today, I made this versitile wrench/hammer for my rong-fu mill/drill. It turned out great, and works very well. I took the wrench and milled the end off. Then turned a piece of cold rolled down, machined the slot, and pinned it to the wrench. Finally I made the oversized UHMW "hockey puck", and pressed it on the hammer end with my vise. This is amature to most of you, but I had fun doing it. It was a good day.

I love how oversized the plastic hockey puck end is.

That is a good example of making something useful from what you have available. One of my problems is always finding some suitable material to make stuff out of. I do save a lot of broken tools and other "scrap" as a lot of my machining is to make a special tool for something.
