bronze, brass, stainless and rosewood plumb bob

Post by schor »

I've been lurking this site for a while. Lots of good members and tons of good info. I'm just a hobby machinist learning as I go from sites like this and youtube.

I've always wanted to make a plumb bob and I had a friend that wanted one more as an ornament in his rustic shop. We struck a deal and I made this.

Click on the pic for a video of some of the makings of it.

The main body is 2" diameter 4" long bronze, some rosewood accents, brass and stainless steel tip.

Very impressive. I like the mixture of wood and metal, has a classy, rich look. It is even functional, if you use braided cable for a string.

Thanks for the comment, I'll let my friend decide what he wants to use for a string. :)
