Back in the early 80s there was a guy that would show up at the Portland OR auto swap meet, the BIG one at the expo center. He had an OLD all cast iron model, about 8 inch long, the small old Champion model spark plugs were in proportion to the engine, of a Ford V-8 60. He would run it from time to time during the show. He said he didnt build it. He was one of those guys that bought & sold stuff all time. After a few of the shows (different years) I asked what he thought it was worth, he had a sign on it not for sale, but at I guess at a weak moment he offered it to me for $1200. I didnt buy it, though I always wished I had, just seemed like a lot of money for what to me was really a toy. That was the last time I ever seen him anywhere.

Now Jack, it may be a little late but I have a few casting kits for flat head engines that due to my lack of time and failing eyesight I will never build, that I would sell. I have a Lancer F-head V-8 kit and a few different 4 cyl models. All my kits are from the OLD Lancer Co. from the early 60s. Maybe you would like to start with one of those. If so just get hold of me. post here or PM
Thanks

Thanks Ken for that site, it's one I haven't seen before and it shows most vital dimensions. I was surprised to see the pistons were made of steel.

Ya., I think the thought back in those day's was, heavy steel,
heavy cast, thick babbet, and we are good to go.

They really were the great minds. (Considering when this was happening.)

I had a 1952 Ford flat head v8 that had pistons that seamed to be some
kind of aluminum/pot metal type of heavy alloy. (these were factory)

I don't know if I gave you this link or not..
