Head Gasket material

Post by tornitore45 »

I was told to use virgin Teflon sheet. What thickness you recommend for a head 1.5" dia. 0.75" bore.
The liner protrude from the finned cylinder and meet the flat head, the sealing surface is a ring 7/8" OD and 3/4" ID, I wander if that is too thin and crush the gasket.

Something that thin you might want to make a soft copper gasket. With enough surface area I use .030 teflon sheet for heads and .010 for everything else.
