Smithy CB1239 ? Grizzly G4791.
Hi, I am new to this forum and extremely new to lathe/mill. I purchased a Smithy CB1239 and it does not have a Thread Gauge. The Smithy rep told me that Grizzly has taken over that particular 3 in 1 and it is a G4791. Can anyone tell me if I can use the Thread Gauge from the G4791, or other brand, on my CB1239? Thank you for your help in advance. There is a lot of good info here!

I can't say, but Grizzly might be able to.
Personally, I'm not sure it's worth worrying about. I went to considerable trouble to make my threading dial work with my lead screw protector, but now I find I don't use it anyway. It doesn't work with metric threads and since I cut both regularly, I find it preferable to just get used to one rhythm that works for everything -- reversing the motor.
