WTB MEG Smokebox Front Casting

Post by rwmorris »

Hey Gang,

I've reached out to Dougal Hubner as well who used to own MEG live steam to see if he had a spare lying around but I thought it would be good to ask here as well. I would like to find a smokebox door casting that might be lying around on your shelves...

Here's a picture of Mike Massee's for reference.

Rob,
Didn't you own a Meg at one time but sold it? I only ask because I am building a Sweet William and the MEG design seems to be a revised version of it, and I think we discussed your engine at one point. Good luck finding one.

The MEG is very similar to the Sweet William except the boiler is 10" on the MEG vs. 8" on the William. Chassis and valve gear similar.

Ornamental work ain't the same as boiler work! I hope he's boiler qualified 'cause if you can't provide some proof of competency for the boiler fab then you're going to have a real job selling that thing....
