2/12" Scale Brake Valves

Post by JBodenmann » Thu Nov 02, 2017 12:59 pm

Hello My Friends
Here are the new 2-1/2" scale brake valves. They are finally ready, mainly thanks to my friend Russ Warr who got me two actual full size brake valves to measure up and look at. Very cool! Drawings are helpful but there's nothing like having the real thing on hand when modeling. So these valves are a very accurate scale model. As with the 1-1/2" scale valves the main bodies are investment cast bronze, the operating handles are investment cast yellow brass. The valve discs are cast iron, the operating shafts are 303 stainless, detent sings are hardened steel, O ring seals are Buna N. Inlets and outlets are 1/4" tapered model pipe threads. They have detent located positions for release, lap, service application, and emergency application. The S6 (engine brake valve) is available only as a straight air valve. The H6 automatic valve is available as a straight air valve, an automatic air valve, or straight or automatic vacuum at slight extra cost. Available only machined, assembled, painted, and tested. These valves will not work with steam. Pricing is, S6 engine brake valve $525.00, H6 automatic valve $675.00. If you purchase the set I will discount them $100.00 for a total price of $1100.00 I will pay the shipping. These are very nice valves and I think you will like them.
Happy Model Building
Jack

Hello Jack,
I just saw this post on the 2.5" scale brake valves. I would like to purchase both the S6 and H6 brake valves.
Let me know how you want payment.
Thanks

Exceptionally good looking valves.

I am thinking I could use one or both on a 3" scale 4-4-0 that Iam restoring. Can you briefly describe how or where I would use the automatic valve e.g. how it is used differently from the engine valve?

Thanks
