Hi Mike . The body is 4 1/2" long and the size is 1 by 1 . The 3/8" is the size of the light well which is attached to one side of the main body. I hope this answers your questions . If you need anymore info just ask. Thanks Bob........

Mike The bottom of the glass has a 1/4 40 mip nipple coming out of it. It could be bored to a bigger size . Like 1/8" pipe. The top has a 3/8" plug in it . This retains the glass tubein the housing . It is taped for a 1/8" FIP thread . It also has a reducer in it for 1/4" tubing .
