I must chime in here. Ding Dong. These are 100% Duplex pumps as I have built 41 of this working design. Hopefully I have shed some light on this dark subject. S.B had six of these beauties. Build them and they will pump.

So then, what's the argument? That the pumps have two cylinders is obvious, and that can easily be construed as a "duplex" pump.
It's likely true that these pumps are not "compound" pumps. Is that what the argument is?

I don`t see any argument ? just pointing out what these pumps actually are. Too bad William Van Brocklin is not here to clear this up. Why is it that you feel this an argument? :? :? :?

There is termoil on the board,
And there is pulling of the hair.
Is the dam thing just a duplex,
Pumping water or just air?
Don is getting angry,
What you gonna do?
Dave Scalavi where are yooooooooooooou?

With a poem like that one has to wonder,

Are these Pumps really Duplex
or just double simplex’s like the others,

These pumps took me 3 months, making parts and going to town.

Can we all just call them Duplex’s and have a beer and just calm down.

I don’t know a good way to finish the poem so I’ll just try,

I don’t have a dog in this fight.....but having a beer sounds like a good idea to me and I’d be happy to join you.

Why does there have to be these arguments over a pump. Some posters on here just argue over everything. Harold please lock this post ,the pumps are SOLD!!! and lets just talk about the working of any pump . That would be more interesting then the junk.

The guy just wanted to sell some pumps and look what it has turned into Just another disagreement over a WORD.

Another word for "discussion".

People learn from threads such as this. That's one of the purposes of the board.

OK then why not start a new thread on the live steam forum so others can comment. I do agree with you but the guy was just selling pump I'm glad he sold them all. There are a lot of work for little money.

A new thread might have been nice, but the questions or comments were posted in this one, so this one is where they were addressed (as it should be).

Do keep in mind, readers are the ones with questions or comments, and all pumps have been sold. The comments rendered may or may not have been helpful, but readers are entitled to question that which they do not understand, especially when they've dealt with the issue with manners, as in this case.
