Penberthy injector

Post by Glenn Brooks »

Hi all,

I am looking for replacements for two 3/8” Penberthy injectors, currently mounted on my 12” ga Ottaway. Or maybe rebuild kits, if NOS. Whomever bought out Penberthy no longer sells replacement parts in the US.

If anybody has such beasts laying around in your parts cabinet, love to hear from you.

Thanks

Hello Glenn , I have never used their services, but they claim to have parts or can make them. Link below.

Hi Vic, thanks. I sent them an email. Also heard about Edward and a Harold Stark, in Indiana whom they call the “injector Whisperer”. So a couple of good leads!

We have tried contacting Beckman at the link above, with no success.
I am watching to learn if you get a response. We have need of Penberthy parts, too.

Are there contact sources for Edward and Harold Stark?

Hi Russ,

Ed and Harold Stark, 317-788-1210

Ed is the son, second generation injector guru. I talked to Ed yesterday. Seems very knowledgeable. Talked about the seating angle of the little one way flap in the outflow side needs to be perfect and how he laps it in, etc. they also have replacement parts apparently. Which many shops do not have. Also, apparently old school prices.

Here is the answer I got back from Beckham’s re: new purchase price. Slightly cheaper than the local steam supplier quote of $1345. Iam going to try the rebuild route first.

Hello Glenn,
3/8” Penberthy injectors offered high pressure 50-200psi or low pressure 25-140 psi.
Two styles; suction left delivery back or suction front delivery back(all fittings in line).
$1210 + s|h $26.50
Delivery one week USPS.

Glenn:
Many Thanks for that info on Penberthy injectors.
I'll share this with our Steam Team, and get to work.
(as if we don't already have enough of that...)
