1/4" scale locomotive castings

Post by Erie2936 »

Here are two sets of castings for 1/4" scale locomotives. I cannot identify the manufacturer for either one.

There is a completed 4 wheel pilot truck (ø7/8" wheel dia) and 4 nice driver castings that are ø1.75". There are cylinder block, valve chest, rear head, smokestack, and several dome castings. Two eccentrics for the valve motion and a third eccentric castings for an axle pump. There is a tender hand pump casting, 6 wheel castings and die cast leaf springs. (38 castings, not counting the pilot or the frame)

The second set of castings is a bit more elusive. The drivers are ø1". Two of the wheels seem defective as they were cast with the crank throw over top the counter weight, not sure how you do that even with a loose pattern. There is an assortment of of trailing truck castings as well. (17 castings)

55 castings total

$200 post paid in the US. Canada and the UK will need to be calculated.

The X216 number is a Stuart-Turner wheel pattern number - intended for Gauge-0/7mm scale, 1.75" finished diameter. A small spoked wheel casting with an "X'" number cast on the back will almost always be from Stuarts.

GRW Driver, Thank you for your help identifying the manufacturer of the first set of castings, preceded with an "X"!
