90-Ton Logging Mikado ****SOLD****

Post by rwmorris »

Posting for my Dad, Robert Morris. Here's your chance to get a complete set of castings, drawings, and a new boiler for a 90-Ton logging Mikado. Lot's of machine work has already been done and the frames are cut, ground, and the binder caps have been installed. The boiler has been hydro'ed to 150psi and is ready for use. Sheetmetal tender is included as well. Originally Designed by Dick Thomas and Steve Vitkovits, this is a popular 1.5" scale locomotive that was recently sold by Railroad Warehouse in Nevada. This one will go quick... $4000.00. Can be picked up in Brentwood CA. Please note the completed locomotive picture is a representation of what can be completed with these castings.

Just curious, what's the boiler diameter? Cylinder bore, and driver diameter?

Thanks Tim

Bob:
My pleasure to hopefully assist.
Do you know if Dick Thomas and Steve Vitkovits are still with us?
I put out a query here several years ago to locate Steve V, searching for more info about these Mikados.
No responses. But I'm pleased to know who the designers are.

Sadly, Dick Thomas died several years ago. He was a super nice guy.
Have no knowledge of Steve Vitkovits.

Steve is alive and well! He and his son are still very active in our club and can be found running one of their fancy electric jobs and sometimes their Mikado at our meets.
