1.5" scale 0-4-0 Camelback Boiler, Castings, Drawings, and Frame ****SOLD****

Post by Marty_Knox »

Set of castings, drawings, and frame for 1.5" scale 0-4-0 Camelback, with a brand new boiler. The boiler is steel with copper tubes rolled in and includes a ball valve throttle in the dome. I will have this at the Cabin Fever Expo Jan. 17-19. $5500 at the show - add $300 for shipping to the lower 48 states.

Marty, what does she look like when complete? Has this design been built before?

Thanks

A little locomotive with 4 wheels on the track is a lot more fun
than a 1/2 finished one with 16 wheels on the bench!

Hi All, Yes this is the Reading A-5. I have taken over this locomotive line from Mercer and offer castings under Iron Horse Supply. If you do a search in Chaski you will find many threads regarding this engine.

Remember that this kit can be a rear cab version as well as a 2-4-4-2 or anything in between. So don't limit your thinking.
Do have kits in stock. Please contact me for price lists.

Marty - That is a wonderful looking boiler.

That is nice looking indeed. I squint and see a Forney or plantation engine. Hmmm...

Ed Gilhooley used these castings to build his Forney.

Thank you for the kind comments. Since some have asked - yes, I will sell the boiler separately. The boiler is $3900, the castings, drawings, and frame $1650.
You could pick them up at Cabin Fever - I would rather not ship.

That photo just makes it even more tempting. I'd love to ask Ed a few questions about his build.
