Pre-cut cylinder gaskets now available for Allen cylinders

Post by Harlock »

Hi all,

We now have pre-cut cylinder and steam chest gaskets for the Mogul-based engines available through the Allen Models site. These are an Aramid fiber/Buna-N rubber blend gasket material made in Austria that is steam rated and will withstand temperatures up to 750 degrees.

These are sold in sets which include four cylinder head gaskets and four steam chest gaskets. On the website they may be found in the cylinder group for each locomotive.

The following locomotives use the M166-8 2" bore gaskets set at https://allenmodels.com/catalog/product ... asket-set/

Mogul
Consolidation
Ten Wheeler
Consolidation

The following locomotives use the A166-8 1.75" bore gaskets at https://allenmodels.com/catalog/product ... asket-set/

American
0-4-0 Yard Engine
Harpur 2-4-0

The Chloe and Fitchburg gaskets will be added at a later date.

Best,

-Mike and Steve

I should also mention that if you have a 2" bore on your existing American you should purchase the M gaskets not the A gaskets.
