Pacific Design Shops is excited to announce our next series of projects for 1/8” scale trains, Wood Caboose Kits! But rather than us decide the design, we would like feedback on what design you would like to see made. Please take a minute to look over the choices below and vote for the ones you would like to see made. As with all our kit offering, they are designed to be affordable while still providing a high level of detail. We will utilize many detail parts commonly found at existing Live Steam suppliers but will also look at custom manufacturing the other parts that are not yet available. These kits may also include steel components such as ladders and a steel under-frame (depending on the final designs chosen) as options to add even more detail.

We do understand that cabooses require specific trucks and while we don’t want to be getting into manufacturing caboose trucks, we will work with existing suppliers to help match their products to the prototype design as best as possible.

Finally, the poll will be open for a couple months with the plan to start working on the most popular designs over the winter and offer kits in the spring of 2021. We likely will produce 2-3 different kits for large scale production to fit the needs of many modelers. The target price range is around $350-$600 per kit depending on the level of detail the modeler chooses.

John, just FYI
Mainline Modeler covered the prototype with drawings of Virginian C-1 caboose Nov, Dec '02, Jan & Feb '03.
Keith Jackman sells (sold?) a very complete set of drawings for the SP C-30-1 caboose. Based on your prior kit I look forward to this one!
