MORE! More pics, and more information. Where did this Loco live and run, what design, brand, builder.. Any specs you can document or remember.
Make it less of a curiosity.
I assume dad is gone, and this is part of his memories.
My condolances if so..
Dave.

Well, in zooming in, you can see coal in the tender, so it must be coal fired..... It's a nice looking engine though...

Zoom in and see No. 2006 on the right. Looks like a 3-1/2" NG?FredR wrote:Well, in zooming in, you can see coal in the tender, so it must be coal fired..... It's a nice looking engine though...

Re: for sale
An assumption, since the loco is in Phila, is that it is 7.25" gauge, rather than 7.50" gauge. However, any potential buyer will not want to make an assumption, so it would be better to know the gauge for certain.

But it does say it’s the correct gauge...Chris wrote:For Sale; This is a 1.5in scale 7.25 gauge Locomotive and tender built by my father.

Re: for sale
I believe that is the 1" scale Lehigh Valley Center Cab Pacific that Mr. Shafer built. It was started by Rudy Blonk of the NJLS, but finished by Mr. Shafer.tsph6500 wrote:Zoom in and see No. 2006 on the right. Re: for sale
In answer to your questions;
It is a 7.25 guage and is a coal burner in addition as my dad said shes a good steamer.
I am glad to see that someone remembered my dad., because the 2006 in the the corner is indeed Robert Shafers center cab in 4.75 guage 1 " scale modeleed after the Leigh Valley 2006. I had always wondered who started this project and was glad to find out it was Rudy Blonk. For those of you interested dad ran mainly at the NJLS but was an associate member at Pioneer Valley. In addition I believe he alsoran at waukshakum once or twice.
Since these engines have not been run in a while I am considering maybe joining pls for some education and getting the boilers tested I believe selling running engines is the way to go.
In addition to the steam engines dad also left me a complete machine shop. Which is where I derive my satisfaction from.These locomotives need to see the track again and as I said my interests went in a different direction.
I have put more pictures on flickr The link is www.flickr.com/photos/59414190@N07/ if you are interested. Thanks for all your replies. I hope this has been helpful

Hey Chris (or anyone else), in photos 37, 38, and 39.... there is a tank with a couple on lines coming out of it and looks to go into the smokebox. Is that some sort of oil tank? It just caught my attention because it stretched the frame instead of being mounted on the rinning rails or boiler....
