PAST is a group of people with an interest in old tools, their history, collecting, the trades that used them, and just having an excuse to get together and swap tools.
PAST == Preserving Arts and Skills of the Trades

It is primarily a West Coast group, and several members have an interest in live steam. There are always quite a few machinists tools available at the swap meets.
This Saturday (Aug. 20, 2011) is the summer meeting in Sonoma, CA
Doors open at 8:00 a.m.
Location is the Sonoma Veterans Building
128 First St., Sonoma CA
Admission is $16, which includes a great BBQ lunch.
On Sunday, a tour is organized of Sturgeon's Mill, a restored 1880 Steam powered Sawmill.
I've been attending this event for a couple of decades now, and my wife and I always make a weekend out of it and do some wine-tasting at the many wineries & tasting rooms in and around Sonoma.
If you aren't a member of PAST you will have to join to attend the show, but the membership is only $20 and is for a full year. There are normally four shows each year: one in Spreckles in March, Sonoma in August and a couple in Modesto and San Diego.
