1.6" Western Pacific 332 class 2-8-2 for sale.

Post by LSGOD »

This locomotive requires some plumbing to be ready to run. Scratch built by the late Art Brune and Ed Yungling. Asking $35000.00. I will supply photo's to interested people.
The loco is located near Sacramento.

This locomotive is being withdrawn from the market.

Here are a couple of pictures of the Mikado I took in 2006. I am sure more progress has been made in the meantime.

With a little more work, I would have loved to turn this into Grand Canyon Railway 4960. Keep on Steamin' My Friend!!

Cheers,

Here are some current photographs of the WP 332 model.
These first 5 are of the tender.

Last 5 for today.
The compressor is non-operating, made from my dad's original molds.
The injector is fabricated and is basically the same design as the one on the Cab-forward that has been in use for over 35 years.
I believe it is a Pemberthy copy.
I also believe the boiler check valve body is also from one of my dad's lost wax molds.
In the last picture is Fidel Camargo on the left, current engine owner, and Edwin Yungling on the right.
At one time I recall seeing a video of the chassis on air at one of the SVLS meets. I have not been able to find it but I recall the exhaust as being very square with a good deep chuff when some resistance applied to the drivers.

Don,

Thanks for posting the pics. This engine is of the same design as the WP 334 that is at Rio Vista, correct? These are pretty close to USRA Heavy Mikes, right? Is the smokebox front and door made from SS?

Good looking work. Hope it goes to a good home.

You are correct. We visited the engine at Rio Vista several times for pictures and sketches. The smokebox cover and door are aluminum. These engines are similar to USRA mikes.
