Hi people;
I found this interesting antique in the woods and was wondering if anyone had any info on this critter?

last picture. Head is removed and piston is soaking in wd-40. Some one removed the sparkplug and a mouse had made its nest inside.
So far everything is freeing up with the wd-40 and some light tapping with a 2 oz. ball peen hammer.
The engine is 3 feet tall by the same long.

A very good source of information is Harry Matthews' Smokstak: Generators forum
http://www.smokstak.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=6
You'll need to register to be able to post to the forum.
On the generators forum, do a search for Western Electric and amongst the dozen, or more, hits you'll find this interesting thread.
