MINI-DIESELS 1.5

Post by chooch »

Mini Diesels 1.5 ??
Well yes. Not full size but the Front portion, maybe "half" of the full size Dash -9, GP-9 and a near resemblance of a Dash-9. Four wheel Diesel locos that make you give a Second look. A "What" is that questioning thought.

I found these locos to be quite interesting and Not--of the usual smaller switchers. In fact, I am working on a Mini-Dash 9 at this time.

West Bend Railcar Shop builds a Mini Dash-9. https://www.facebook.com/WBRCS Look in photo or album sections--have to search around to find the build photo`s.

wassel.org is another site, click on Trains for the "near resemblance" of a Dash 9.
This site gives you various drawings and measurements.

chemungridgeberryrr,weebly.com is a site with the GP-9

I found West Bend to be the best for looking at the Dash 9 build.

Thank you.

I build a Mini-F7 using a chassis from Ride Trains and a shell from Mr. Motion.

See

It is easy to transport and run. Gives me a nice break when I have run my Allen Mogul for a while. Also very nice for switching, as I use the Dimension Engineering motor controller and a Futaba remote control.

Daris,
Well, I`ll be. Is that You with all the grey (white) hair, I`ve looked at Mr. Motion`s site and seen you and your loco a lot of times. Looks quite nice and must be a lot of fun.. I was thinking of getting the F body one time but too many Unfinished projects already.
Roy, of Ride trains makes some good products also. Too bad he discontinued the Side rod chassis. I would have liked to get another one.
You can see my "Dockside" loco on his Customer photos page. That`s why I am looking for a reasonable or, will make a smoke unit.
Thanks for sharing.

If you put a couple tanks and a face on your mogul you could almost pass it off as Thomas!

Daris,
Both engines look good but we are talking the Mini`s in particular for now.
With the paint on your F-7 the body looks Very nice and smooth more than other pics I`ve seen.
Are you just trying to get me to buy one too. (big grin) I would like one of Motions codys though just for the fun of it but I already have a couple parts for a Mini F-7/GP sitting on the "Someday bench.
Compliment--I sure would have fun putting details on your Mini F-7.

For the record and others-I DO make some things. Ride Trains chassis and power system, my freelance "Steamer"body. I`m the one with the "Spenders."
