Bill of Real Trains

Post by FredR »

Hey, anyone catch 'ol Bill of Real Trains on American Restoration on the history channel? Cool little antique toy backyard train run off a car starter and a battery. It was painted in a nice red Popcicle design. If you get a chance, watch for it. It was kinda interesting.

I saw the whole episode. Bill really represented Real Trains extremely well.

One thing I have to disagree with, is the rarity of the Dopke Yardbird trains. I have seen several for sale here and there. Discover Live Steam and ebay being the most common. Bill and Dale did a great job of getting that train back on the tracks. I recommend watching the episode just to see how much can be done to restore a train that would appear to be junk in the beginning.

Good Luck,
Terry Miller
