Hi there again. Here is my unfinished loco at a friends railway. Has a Briggs and Stratton 3HP motor and very american as the chassis is made from steel from an IBM AS400 computer and the design idea came from Bruce Bates's cartoons.

Regards
Gary

It's 7.25" and 5" gauge. The track owner has locos (gas and steam) for both gauges.

Thansk for the reply. You should give us more on the, who, what , where, and how it is done. Drive details and whatnot.

There are a ton of folks that would like to start, but dont know where to begin.

Where is home?

Dave, the nosy.

It all started with the DIY concrete mixer that I bought second hand to lay the foundations for my workshop, which is now gone (divorce) sniff!! The mixing barrel was shot so the briggs and stratton was pulled out and stored. I was going to build this loco to pull passengers on an available piece of land close to where I use to live for added income. Being 100m from the sea I decided to use spz v belts as beach sand makes a mess of chain. I have used commercial bearing blocks throughout.

The front axle bearing blocks have been pivoted one end and the other retained and cushioned with a piece rubber conveyor belting. Crude but it works.

See! It is something most home guys can duplicate fairly easy to get down the rails . Thanks for posting.

Nearly complete. Just the horn and Chessie logo and lettering to go.

That's a good use for an IBM AS400. Never been much of an IBM fan

Looks like a nice little engine.

Model railroading is fun but the work expands proportionately to the track gauge.
