As I am in the process of building my first live steam locomotive I am purchasing a small gas engine from an old friend to help keep the son interested.

It is to have something to build a railroad in the yard with and to run at Mid South Live Steamers club track which we have joined.

It was bought by my friend in the late 1987 period so that my girls would have an engine to run when we visited. I know he purchased in from California having had it shipped to Colorado.

Can anyone identify it and who made it. I thought it might be a Lil Gasser but the wheels do not match as they are inside the frame. I know it has a cast iron Clinton with an electric start, lights and charges the battery while running.

These were taken in the shed where it has sit for many years. Hope to make it a restoration project for my son.

Thats it alright. Looks like it is still in production

The previous owner madified the wheels in an attempt to take tighter radius by cutting down the flanges. He tells me it does not stay on his track as well.

I might have to turn a new set of wheels

If that engine can't negotiate the tight curves on his track, I'd wager that the only engine that could would be a 0-2-0!
