Thnks for the nice comments.

@brian:
Thanks for the tip with McCarr - however living over the big pond I have to deal with the domestic DIY-markets which seem to have a more limited supply than in the US.

@cbrew:
Your trucks are much more elaborateed than mine - fortunately my photos are a bit out of focus to hide the rough/crude workmanship ;-)

@Gary:
I'm located in southern Germany - we have quite a number of live steam clubs here where one can run his trains as a visitor. However, track lengths are rather small in comparison to US live steam clubs. Most of them are less than half a mile. Anyway, better than nothing.
I'm looking forward to put the train on the tracks, too (next year) - however, I still have to struggle with getting the beast into my car (having no trailer up to now).

Best regards
Norman

Morten1996 I love your engine, I was given this lucky piece it was originally made in 1934, hope they come out clear. The reverse side reads sample of aluminum in the new UNION PACIFIC TRAIN built by PULLMAN CAR & MFG. CORP. very bottom reads ALUMINUM CO. OF AMERICA

Thank you for the nice comments, guys .
Apart from lettering and narrowing the lower red stripe by 3/16" the A-unit's paint job is finished.
