S-4 Fest

Post by Bob Snippe »

S-4 s/n 0001, 0003, and 0004 in Texas enjoying the warm weather. s/n 0006 is on it's test run up here in the snow.

Some of the pictures are too large, so looks like I have to figure out how to shrink them.

Bob,
You don't need a fancy aftermarket program to shrink your pics.

You can easily shrink your photos even in "Paint".

Just use Image Stretch/Skew.

I usually shrink by 70% for both dimensions on the first pass, then 50% on the next, and they should be about right to post.

Then same under a modified name so you don't affect the original. I usually add "resize" to the name.

You should have a program for your pix camera that has all that capability in it. I have several cameras so have a number of programs that can manipulate pictures.

I always start with a COPY of the original, and work on that, in case of an oops, I do not destroy or modify the original in any way. when completed, I either erase the copy for storage conservation, or ad an alphabet letter to the the camera designated number in the program, A, or B, whatever. Then placing the sub picture in the fiel right next to the original for ease, or just pull a search for that number with the alphabet sub will bring it right up.

It is simple if you can punch the buttons correctly on the Bozo puter, they do have a mind of their own. :)

Serial number #0002 in Ohio. Waiting for first run of spring.
It is a great engine. Makes a presence at the track.

Bill,
Was going to send you an email, but you beat me to it. s/n 0005 is the electric, waiting for the weather to break to go play. I mean test. s/n 7 and 8 are in parts on the shelf. Finishing the GP-40-2's now.

You will be happy. It is a cool engine, especially after you get it tricked out.

I'm getting ready to sell mine. Long decision over the winter, but pretty much have decided to sell. Getting more difficult for me to handle because of size and weight. Still will have the GE and a couple of cars. You might call it simplifying at my age.

John's S-4 will be the first with the 16hp V twin coupled with the Eaton model 11 pump. Lots more steel in the frame too.

Hate to see you sell yours. You put in allot of work into it and made it look so good.
You should get a good price.
