I just posted a 180+ page PDF documenting the late Jim Wright's old website "Lee's Trains".

As most of you know Lee was a top notch builder. Fortunately, he recorded many of his building techniques on his website. This is a must read for anyone building a diesel locomotive or freight car.

Daris,
Thanks for preserving Lee's work. That's a lot of info to go thru and digest...sorry to see so many of the reference photographs are now missing, but sometimes the journey is more interesting than the finish. In Lee's case, it was amazing what he accomplished. While his equipment was a little "too modern" for my modeling taste, I was always intrigued by his workmanship and attention to detail. And perhaps more important than anything...he had an abundance of patience! It showed in his models. Thanks for that trip down memory lane. Carl B.

Re: Lee Wright IBLS Wandering Locomotive Book
I never met Lee but he's the main reason I care for attention in 1/8th scale as much as I do. Seeing his Husky Stack inspired me to get into intermodal equipment, I was going to build black multi-purpose cars before that. His site has been gone for what, going on 2 years now? How did you find this treasure?

Re: Lee Wright IBLS Wandering Locomotive Book
I'd love to see some of his "how-to" articles in the magazine. Does anyone know who I could talk to from his family about doing so? I think it would be a great way to keep his legacy going.
Thanks
Chris
Thanks

On 18 August 2013 Mark C. Gregor announced that the "Lee's Trains" website had been restored by Mike Folkenroth. It is available here:

Re: Lee Wright IBLS Wandering Locomotive Book
I wish I had seen this before I started my Diesel. Thanks to Lee and the survivors who have kept this book available for the rest of us.
