Geez, I go away for a couple of weeks and come back to this post!

First off, I'm glad that Jose is alive and well. And I can understand the desire to archive the thread. But will somebody please edit the first post so that the first words read are "False Alarm"? ;)

Second, with reference to the pitfalls of discussing religion or politics in a machining forum: I think it is proof that we as a species have a lot in common can get along just fine despite our different opinions IF we just offer each other a little respect. Or to look at it another way, perhaps "religion" and "politics" are not actually as important as we think they are -- what really matters is what we do and how we treat others.

Jack.
I've requested some input from Mike and Marty in regards to the possibility of adding the button. I'll report what I learn.

The risk being that people could get hung up about the tally of "likes" (or thanks or reputation points, etc.) they have received. I've seen that problem crop up elsewhere.

Everyone was concerned about Jose because their personal interaction with the man built his reputation, not because he had a high "likes" count.

Yes, it looks very much like this is possible now with the new software.

I am trying to work through a couple other technical issues, but should be able to get caught up on everything sometime in May. (Really!!!..Well, I will really try!)

I will put this on the list.
