file cabinets as base

Post by spro »

There are many sturdy, yet less than before. I remember a fellow telling me how difficult to crush them to fit into the rolloff container. Serious tractor thing like a chrusher. It could compress most things but those desks were difficult. Most all file cabinets were easy.
He died over 10 years ago, maybe 15(another subject) The point has varied around but these are not machine stands. Every time. .every weight.. in drawers changes. They must be loaded to present a stable base but is unpredictable. OP mounts his machine for reasons but may never know the stability of a heavy stand where the stand is rooted to the foundation and presents a stability which it is secured to the machine. It happens and it is sad but China is not selling us Earth. These are machines which cross the oceans Just like the venerable Atlas lathes require a sturdy base.
The base is part of the machine when secured.
