The finest hacksaw blades available
I was out at my buddies shop this weekend cutting an A pillar out of a car with one of these fine blades. Got about 2/3 rds of the way done with one cut and had destroyed most of the teeth. Grabbed another, finished the first cut and the second with its relative the bimetal blade. Ordered up some Lennox bimetal blades for him.
Shop toys...
10X54" Vectrax GS20F mill with DRO & frequency drive (saved from the scrap pile).
Jet 13x40 lathe.
Powermatic 1150 drill press.
I love Craigslist!

From which part of the world did that blade get shipped?Bentworker wrote:IMG_1685.JPG
Carbon steel import blade... with the "handle" silkscreened on the wrong end of the blade. He actually had the teeth facing backwards because of the marking on the blade.

Nice! :O
I don't get through a huge quantity of hacksaw blades any more but I keep a stock of Sandvik Bimetal blades in 32 and 24 tpi in the workshop, you can bend them and hammer them straight again several times before they fail

Next hacksaw blades for me to try are Bahco. I have been using Bahco blades in my body saw and they are incredible.
China is where the blue blades came from, you can see the "A" in the photo, I like the pvc pull saw idea. He probably has a dozen of them stashed away in his toolbox at the shop. I need to place them in the steel recycle bin... But I am not sure they are actually steel

Most often used a Swede saw for PVC. Lot faster.hammermill wrote:PERHAPS it is for pvc pipe to cut on the pull stroke
Hacksaw blades ....Sandvik, and Nicholson.
Then....there's those Horror Freight things. Either made of a steel-peanut/butter alloy, or....just peanut brittle. Never know what you are going to get.

That blade was made for Chinese cars. They're much easier to cut.

That explains it.
It was a Mustang that I was cutting apart (about half rust).

Yeah, but it was American rust, which is stronger than Chinese rust.Bentworker wrote:That explains it.SteveHGraham wrote:That blade was made for Chinese cars. They're much easier to cut.

One of the best bumper stickers I ever saw was on a Pinto.BigDumbDinosaur wrote: Made by the same company that made the Dedsel and the Pop-Goes-The-Pinto.
I stopped behind one at a traffic-light in Tucson.
Bumper sticker said: "Don't Follow Too Close. Pintos Blow Up"
