Needed 30" of 1 1/2" x 3" channel and could only get rectangular bar.
Couldn't think of a way to save it, so I just hit the "START" button on the CNC mill...
Saving the hole.

Operating machines is perfectly safe......until you forget how dangerous it really is!

Re: Saving the hole.
If the part is thin enough for the plasma table or made of a material that the OA will cut, I've done that. Not always worth the time, though, and not always possible. I also do all of my plasma cutting outside since I'm not running downdraft or a water table, so that factors into it. For me, the cost of materials isn't always a factor, either. I just hate throwing away scrap big enough to be made into another part or turning it to chips. Some people say I don't place enough value on my time, and maybe that's true. I've been known to spend 100 hours making a $100 part, too.
