This is what I originally thought #2 was part of. Then I looked closer and realized it actually was a thread gage.

There is definitely a Schrödinger's Cat type of thing going on. And in 30 years of marriage, I have done an in depth full immersion study on that matter.

With women, you can never know the correct answer until you commit to a position. However, while it is impossible to *know* the right answer until you commit, the odds of it being the *wrong* answer can vary widely between 50-95%, moment in time the question was posed. The odds are strongly related to the immediate state of your relationship, but will also vary by depending on the woman, the day, the weather, the astrological alignments, or even the breath taken when the result of your position are announced. So the same question posed at any other moment in time is quite likely not to have the same correct answer. This is much like flipping a coin in that any previous answer or answers will have no impact on the odds that the next answer is correct.

Short rules can be very handy. I've also noticed that if you work in a sheet metal shop with power shears, short rules are surprisingly common.
