Pictures not visable
Why can I not see some of the pictures, all I get is a PhotoBucket message that says - Please update your account to allow 3rd party hosting?

It's about not Your account, it's that of the owner pf the pictures and the associated account.

Hi There,
PhotoBucket originally was a free photo hosting site that allowed
its patrons to upload pics and link them to posts. Then they decided
to change its terms of use and now they want users to pay for that
privilege.
Good Luck!

I've deleted all my PhotoBucket content and told them to insert their new CEO's business model where the sun don't shine, believe it or not some folks built their business websites around PB hosted content, I think they are the real targets for this policy of extortion
Re: Pictures not visable
Thanks for the feedback, I was worried that I had done something wrong. It's a pity because I really wanted to see GlennW's pictures of his Fairbanks Morse repairs.

If you encounter a forum post that contains a blocked PB image, there is a way for you to view the image without requiring any action on the part of the person who originally posted the image.
I can't explain why this works, or whether it will continue to work, but, using Firefox...
Right click on the PB "speedometer" and select "View image" from the dropdown menu. You should be taken to the PB page; the display there will still show the speedometer.
Now click on the page refresh icon next to the page address at the top of the screen. If it works for you, the correct picture should now appear.
But, here's where it gets interesting.
Click the back button - you may have to click it several times - until you return to the page that had the blocked image. The correct image should now appear in place of the dreaded speedometer!! Moreover, any other references to the image (e.g., a post that quotes the original post that contained the blocked image) will also now show the correct image.
I can't say if it will work with browsers other than Firefox but it's easy enough to try.

Or do what I did, adblock any URL that contains the string 'photobucket'.
Youtube is next for that same treatment, if they don't change something or if there isn't a FF extension soon that brings back some version that will actually play a video in my browser. Since their latest 'redesign' all I get are blank pages.

If you have Firefox or Chrome this will work.
Chrome extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... jjgj?hl=en
Firefox extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... src=search
I use Chrome and after installing the extension all of the PB images reappear.

Hi There,
Glenn, Thanks for the links but I think you've got them
reversed (The one listed for Chrome is the one for FireFox
and vise versa).
Good Luck!
