I think I have more experience with gremlins than elves. A gremlin can appear as an elf and may require drastic measures. For some reason, things hold together longer than expected and if it comes by way of elves, so be it.

Not necessarily. Whimsy is a vent, of sorts, to otherwise dire or serious concerns which cannot be expressed here. Sometimes there is a meaning and sometimes there isn't. Either way, there is expression and that may be all that is required.

Reminds me of Mr. Bill.
Every hard-fried egg began life sunny-side up.

Oh oh. Looks like Mr. Grinch got into the steroids again. A Certain Someone probably needs to review his copy of Santa’s Workshop Policy Manual regarding the Ethical Treatment Of Elves With Machine Tools.

This reminds me of "OOOOOH NOOOOO" from the 1970s. Was it Saturday Night Live?

Yep, "OOOOOH NOOOO ! " was Mr. Bill's catch phrase, it was a segment on Saturday Night Live.
And yes I watch too much TV.
