What are these stones?

Post by SteveM »

I have a box of these stones.

They are 6" long and 1/2" wide and are the surface is pretty fine.

There is a metal holder built onto the back.

I believe that they are from Dresser Industries, as that is on the box and they fit the box, so it might be the original box.

Anyone know what these are from?

Do these fit a Sunnen hone?

Looks to me like a hone, but not like any sunnen type hone I've seen (not that I know much). I've seen an automotive (in general) rigid cylinder hone with stones like those. They appear too big for one of the flapper cylinder hones, but again, that may just be my limited experience.
