Milling machine vise/CNC vise
Milling machine vise/CNC vise
I see in tool catalogs milling machine vises and CNC vises. What is the difference? They look the same.

Re: Milling machine vise/CNC vise
For some manufacturers a CNC vise has the fixed jaw closest to you and on a milling machine vise the fixed jaw is the jaw farthest away from you.
Another possibility is that some manufacturers call a CNC vise a vise that has no "ears" for the hold down studs so that multiple vises can be placed on the table closer together.
It could mean different things from different manufacturers.

As Glenn says, means different things to different companies.
In relation to the lack of ears on the CNC vises, they are generally milled square so the vise can be laid on it's side for clamping odd stock.
