Foredom Pedal With Dumore Drill Press?
Re: Foredom Pedal With Dumore Drill Press?
On that note, I just used my Dumor yesterday.
My wife lost a screw from her current favorite sunglasses. Glasses were not expensive, though not cheap, but I am. I took the other screw out to see if I had one. It was roughly a #1, but had some bastard fast thread that looked somewhat like a wood screw like you often see threaded into plastic but it screwed into a tapped hole in the metal boss. Anyway, I didn't have anything like that and not inclined at all to try to make one, so I drilled it out on the Dumor and tapped for 2-56 which I had plenty of. Enlarged the clearance hole to suit and problem solved. Installed the screws with loctite and I don't think I'll be worrying about lost screws for those glasses again.

You've clearly confused a Leeds and Northrup type instrument with more general potentiometers which both pre-date and post-date the instrument, your argument that the instrument to which you refer is the root definition of a potentiometer is thus unfounded.John Hasler wrote: ↑Sun Jul 08, 2018 4:16 pm The instrument does, yes (unless you consider the standard cell part of the instrument, in which case it has only two).

The "Leeds and Nortrup type instrument" such as I used in EE201 lab goes back to 1841.Magicniner wrote: ↑Sun Jul 08, 2018 4:23 pmYou've clearly confused a Leeds and Northrup type instrument with more general potentiometers which both pre-date and post-date the instrument, your argument that the instrument to which you refer is the root definition of a potentiometer is thus unfounded.John Hasler wrote: ↑Sun Jul 08, 2018 4:16 pm The instrument does, yes (unless you consider the standard cell part of the instrument, in which case it has only two).

We should make popcorn.
I'm just glad we're learning about the Leeds and Northrup instrument.

You guys are making me want to crush some of the asbestos off the carbon pile upstairs and snort it in an attempt to make this end!
Shop toys...
