With the right change gears you can do 27TPI on just about any lath. On my Grizzly 18TPI calls for a 40T gear mating with a 40T gear. If I leave the QCGB set at 18TPI and change one of the gears to 60T(40T to 60T) I get 27TPI. 18 divided by (40/40) = 18. 18 divided by (40/60) = 27.
