Re: Thin Parting Blade

Harold, I use an ordinary ALoris (real one not import) #7 parting tool holder which uses a wedge for locking the blade, not set screws .
I would post a picture but Photobucket is dead and I have not gone elseware.
The Aloris uses a wedge and and you can lock down the blade pretty well.
Now you do not have to remove all the teeth , just the area that is exposed to the work piece.
Its best to have the teeth portion up as that is the harden side on bi-metal blades.
Grind down to the gullet and then thin to desire with a 2 degree side relief .
then a flat top with a 8 degree front relief more or less. the ALoris already has a angle for top relief.
The picture I have shows a .016 wide blade parting off steel nuts
